Planting Seeds

Planting Seeds

My back was cramped and fingers covered in soil as I sat on the cardboard box in the basement. Leaning over, I scooped the soil into the block maker and then pressed the loose, wet, mix firmly down. It was mid-March and still bitter cold outside. Winter was grasping on extra strong this year with its icy fingers, unwilling to let go, yet I kept hard at work, planting seeds and hoping for Spring.

My word for 2019 is Hope. With hope, you know where you’ve been, where you are, and you know where you’re going. The details may not be certain, but the direction certainly is. While writing this it is early July and since March it has been an adventure of ups and downs, excitement and disappointment, success and failures; all characteristics of true adventures.

This journey has just begun and I am excited all of you have chosen to come along! I don’t know what lies ahead, but I do know the trajectory!

At the Waypoint Farm, we believe great food is made and shared with family and friends (hopefully I have the privilege of becoming one on this journey). My ambition is to grow food that is affordable, tastes amazing, is easy to prepare or eat on the go, and not only satiates the appetite but also packs a nutritional punch that brings life to each of us and our community.

I can’t wait to share more of the vision for Waypoint Farm along the way and discover with you many unique and exciting lessons and experiences! With that in mind, let’s journey!
